Lawrence Taylor played ten seasons for the New York Giants from 1981 to 1993 and won three Defensive Player of the Year awards. He also secured two Super Bowl titles with the team. Reggie White played for Philadelphia Eagles from 1985 to 1992 and later Green Bay Packers until 1998. White won eight First-team All-Pro honors and three Defensive Player of the Year awards during his career. Mel Blount played thirteen seasons for Pittsburgh Steelers from 1970 to 1983 and won four Super Bowls.
Jan Stenerud played twelve seasons for Kansas City Chiefs from 1967 to 1979 and later Green Bay Packers until 1983. Running back finalists appeared on the 18th of November 2019 while wide receiver finalists came out on the 16th of December 2019. Defensive linemen were revealed on the 25th of November 2019 with linebackers following that same day. Finalists for special teams and coaches were announced in early December 2019 before the full team was completed.
