Description of service

HearLore provides audio summaries, topic pages, playlists, and related features derived from Wikipedia source material. All audio, text summaries, and topic connections are processed and produced by HearLore. The service is designed to help you discover and listen to stories about people, places, events, ideas, and cultural moments.

User accounts

Acceptable use

HearLore is intended for personal, non-commercial use. You may listen to audio summaries, browse topic pages, create playlists, and save entries to your library for your own personal enjoyment and learning. You may not use the service for any unlawful purpose or in any way that could damage, disable, or impair the service.

Prohibited use

The following activities are strictly prohibited without prior written permission from HearLore:

  • Reproducing, redistributing, publishing, or creating derivative works from HearLore audio recordings or text summaries without written consent from HearLore.
  • Circumventing, disabling, or interfering with rate limits, bot detection, access controls, or any other security or technical measures implemented by HearLore.

Violation of these prohibitions may result in immediate account termination and may subject you to legal action.

Intellectual property

All audio summaries, text summaries, topic page compositions, graph data, and topic relationship mappings produced by HearLore are the intellectual property of HearLore. While the underlying factual information originates from Wikipedia and is available under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0 license, the transformative works created by HearLore, including the written summaries, audio productions, and the structure of topic connections, are proprietary to HearLore.

User-generated organization

When you create playlists, save bookmarks, or organize entries in your library, you retain ownership of your organizational choices. By using the service, you grant HearLore a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, display, and transmit your playlists, bookmarks, and library organization as necessary to provide the service to you.
