A group of genetically modified apes on the Horizon Lunar Colony revolted, killing all scientists before one ape named Winston escaped to Earth in a rocket. The United Nations eventually assembled Overwatch as a strike team led by Reyes and Morrison to quell the uprising. Within years, the organization transitioned from a military force into a global peacekeeping body that ushered in an era of prosperity known as the Overwatch Generation.
