Official U.S. PlayStation Magazine ran from the 23rd of September 1997 to the final issue cover dated January 2007. The publication covered the evolution of Sony's gaming hardware from the original PlayStation through the PlayStation 3 era.
Tom Byron served as Editor in Chief of Official U.S. PlayStation Magazine during its most influential years. He guided the magazine's overall direction and tone while working alongside Managing Editor Dana Jongewaard and Senior Editor Joe Rybicki.
International editions of Official U.S. PlayStation Magazine existed in Sweden, Finland, the United Kingdom, the Republic of Ireland, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Belgium, Portugal, Brazil, and Australia. The Belgian edition was unique in that it was also published in the Netherlands.
PlayStation: The Official Magazine replaced Official U.S. PlayStation Magazine after it ended in January 2007. This new publication was launched in December 2007 by the independent PlayStation magazine PSM to continue providing in-depth coverage of Sony game consoles.
