  • Raiders owner Mark Davis retained the architecture firm MANICA to design a ten-level domed stadium in Paradise, Nevada. The structure features an ETFE roof that allows natural sunlight while maintaining climate control inside. Silver and black exterior strips installed by YESCO light up the building at night. A large 3D printed torch stands in the north endzone area to honor Al Davis, the late longtime owner of the Raiders. This torch was reported in 2019 as the largest 3D printed object in the world. Large retractable curtain-like windows face the Las Vegas Strip to connect the interior with the city outside. More than 35,000 parking spaces are located within a mile of the facility. The stadium includes 2,700 parking spots surrounding it directly and another 6,000 nearby. Construction crews began work on the 13th of November 2017, after site preparation started earlier that September.

  • Las Vegas Sands chairman Sheldon Adelson met with Mark Davis on the 29th of January 2015, to discuss a potential new home for the franchise. The team had been seeking a new stadium since the 1980s but faced impasse in Oakland. On the 28th of April 2016, Davis pledged $500 million toward constructing a proposed $1.4 billion domed stadium. The Southern Nevada Tourism Infrastructure Committee voted unanimously on the 15th of September 2016, to approve $750 million for the plan. Governor Brian Sandoval signed the funding bill into law on the 17th of October 2016, allowing Clark County to increase its hotel tax. Raiders filed relocation papers on the 19th of January 2017, to move from Oakland to Las Vegas. NFL owners approved the move by a margin of 31, 1 on the 27th of March 2017. The Raiders closed the purchase of land at the Russell Road site on the 1st of May 2017, for $77.5 million. Mortenson Construction and McCarthy Construction were named developers on the 11th of May 2017.

  • Groundbreaking occurred on the 13th of November 2017, featuring NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell and Raiders legends like Howie Long and Jim Plunkett. Construction crews began blasting caliche rock with dynamite in January 2018 to excavate the stadium bowl. A construction worker buried a Kansas City Chiefs flag near what was expected to be the 50-yard line during December 2017 work. The original budget stood at $1.8 billion before trusses required retrofitting in May 2019. Don Webb received an additional $40 million on the 23rd of May 2020, to cover overages from that structural issue. Another $90 million was added in September 2019 to fund extra shifts needed to fix broken truss issues. The final cost reached $1.97 billion, which is $175 million over the initial estimate. Clark County officials declared substantial completion on the 31st of July 2020, allowing the venue to begin leasing operations. Work continued through October 2020 for project closeout phases. The stadium address changed from 5617 Dean Martin Drive to 3333 Al Davis Way on the 27th of August 2019.

  • The financing structure included $750 million in public funding and $1.1 billion from the Raiders organization. Public funds came from municipal bonds issued by Clark County backed by hotel room taxes effective March 2017. A total of $645 million in construction bonds sold out within 90 minutes during April 2018. Local government receives no rent or revenue sharing because such arrangements would violate tax-exempt bond status. Proponents argued economic projections justified public spending through increased activity and tax revenue. Critics claimed these projections relied on overly optimistic assumptions about visitor numbers. The Raiders secured a $650 million loan from Bank of America to replace Adelson's withdrawn contribution. Additional funding sources included $200 million from the NFL stadium loan program and $300 million from personal seat license sales. Naming rights were granted to Allegiant Travel Company for 30 years starting in 2020. Some reports placed the total budget at $2 billion when including a separate practice facility costing $100 million.

  • The first event with spectators occurred on the 31st of October 2020, when UNLV lost to Nevada Wolf Pack 37, 19 in the Battle for Nevada. The inaugural Monday Night Football game took place the 21st of September 2020, where Raiders defeated New Orleans Saints 34, 24. Wil Lutz scored the stadium's first points via a 31-yard field goal while Alvin Kamara ran for the first touchdown. Super Bowl LVIII happened the 11th of February 2024, between Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers with attendance reaching 61,629. The Las Vegas Bowl moved from Sam Boyd Stadium to this venue starting in 2021 after pandemic cancellations. The Pac-12 Championship Game was hosted here in 2020 and 2021 before moving elsewhere. The 2024 Copa América featured group stage matches and a quarterfinal draw held the 6th of July 2024. College football games like the Vegas Kickoff Classic drew record crowds of 63,969 during September 2024. The stadium will host the College Football Playoff National Championship on the 25th of January 2027.

  • Illenium performed the first concert at Allegiant Stadium on the 3rd of July 2021, drawing 35,000 attendees. Garth Brooks headlined the first major concert event on the 10th of July 2021, generating $5,440,500 in revenue. Guns N' Roses played an the 27th of August 2021 show promoted as the first rock performance inside the facility. BTS held four nights in April 2022 with total attendance reaching 199,697 people. Beyoncé's Renaissance World Tour brought 86,465 fans to the venue on the 26th of August 2023. George Strait's the 7th of December 2024 concert became the most expensive stadium-concert in history with average ticket prices of $490.29. Coldplay scheduled a the 6th of June 2025 appearance expected to draw over 100,000 spectators. The Weeknd performed multiple dates including an After Hours til Dawn tour stop in May 2025.
