Final Fantasy XV launched on the 29th of November 2016. The game delivered a story about a young man named Noctis Lucis Caelum who woke up on the morning of his wedding only to find his entire life had been erased by a military coup.
Director Hajime Tabata led Final Fantasy XV after the project was rebranded from Final Fantasy Versus XIII in 2012. The development team was reshuffled and the story was rewritten from the ground up to fit the new hardware and a new creative direction.
