Rebecca Moesta
Rebecca Moesta Anderson entered the world on the 17th of November 1956. Her birthplace was West Germany to American parents. She grew up in Pasadena, California until her early twenties. This upbringing shaped her early years before she pursued higher education. She earned a Bachelor of Liberal Arts from California State University, Los Angeles. Shortly after graduation, she married a physicist from nearby Caltech. The couple took their first steps into adulthood together.
In 1989, Moesta began working at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. Her role involved proofreading and copy editing documents for the facility. While there, she formed a science fiction club. It was within this group that she met Kevin J. Anderson. They divorced their previous spouses in 1990 and 1991 respectively. The two wedded in 1991 and began writing science fiction novels together. Their professional partnership started as a personal connection within a workplace setting.
Moesta co-authored fourteen Star Wars expanded universe novels with Anderson. These books formed the Young Jedi Knights series between 1995 and 1998. Heirs of the Force arrived in June 1995 followed by Shadow Academy in September 1995. The Lost Ones appeared in December 1995 while Lightsabers came out in February 1996. Darkest Knight reached shelves in May 1996 and Jedi Under Siege in August 1996. Shards of Alderaan debuted in December 1996 before Diversity Alliance in March 1997. Junior Jedi Knights: Anakin's Quest launched in April 1997 and Delusions of Grandeur in June 1997. Junior Jedi Knights: Vader's Fortress followed in July 1997 and Jedi Bounty in September 1997. Return to Ord Mantell came out in May 1998, Trouble on Cloud City in August 1998, and Crisis at Crystal Reef in December 1998.
Moesta expanded her writing portfolio beyond Star Wars into other major franchises. She co-wrote Highest Score with Kevin J. Anderson under the pseudonym Kem Antilles. This book was based on the Star Trek: Deep Space Nine television series set in the year 2370. Her work also included Little Things for the Buffyverse released in 2002. These projects demonstrated her ability to adapt existing universes while maintaining narrative integrity across different genres.
The couple owns and runs the publishing company WordFire Press. Moesta continues working on several new projects today. She currently copy edits her husband's works as part of their ongoing collaboration. Their partnership has produced two Titan A.E. young adult novels and two high-tech pop-up books alongside their extensive novel catalog.
