Rebecca Moesta Anderson is an American writer born on the 17th of November, 1956. She is best known for co-writing the Young Jedi Knights series with her husband Kevin J. Anderson, a fourteen-novel run in the Star Wars expanded universe published between 1995 and 1998. She and Anderson also own and operate WordFire Press.
Moesta began her professional career as a proofreader and copy editor at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory starting in 1989. At the lab she founded a science fiction club, where she met Kevin J. Anderson. After marrying Anderson in 1991, the two began writing science fiction novels together.
Moesta co-wrote fourteen Star Wars expanded universe novels in the Young Jedi Knights series, beginning with Heirs of the Force in June 1995 and concluding with Crisis at Crystal Reef in December 1998. She also contributed to the Junior Jedi Knights branch, including Anakin's Quest, Vader's Fortress, and Kenobi's Blade, all published in 1997.
They published their Star Trek novel under the joint pseudonym Kem Antilles. The book, Highest Score, appeared in 1996 and was set in the Star Trek: Deep Space Nine universe in the year 2370.
Crystal Doors is a trilogy Moesta co-wrote with Kevin J. Anderson. The three volumes are The Island Realm (2006), The Ocean Realm (June 2007), and Sky Realm (2008). Unlike their Star Wars and Star Trek work, the series is an original creation rather than a licensed franchise property.
Moesta was born in West Germany to American parents and was raised in Pasadena, California. She earned a Bachelor of Liberal Arts from California State University, Los Angeles, and later a Master of Science in Business Administration through Boston University courses taken while living in Darmstadt, West Germany.
