  In January 2017, a user named Meguru Seto uploaded the first chapter of a fantasy story to Shōsetsuka ni Narō. This website allowed anyone to publish their writing without editorial oversight. The story quickly gained attention among readers who enjoyed its unique blend of dungeon exploration and romantic comedy elements. Kodansha noticed the online popularity and acquired the rights in August 2017. They began printing physical volumes under their Kodansha Ranobe Books imprint on the 1st of August 2017. Illustrator Note Takehana provided artwork for these early print editions. Six volumes were released during the initial run before the series expanded further.

If he reaches zero points, death becomes inevitable.

  Tomoyuki Hino began drawing the manga adaptation on the 2nd of May 2018 through Kodansha's Suiyōbi no Sirius service. The series concluded its run on the 20th of June 2023 after five years of serialization. Twelve tankōbon volumes collected the chapters from the 6th of December 2018 to the 9th of April 2024. Seven Seas Entertainment licensed the English version and released the first volume on the 17th of November 2020. Readers could follow Noir's adventures across these pages until the final chapter appeared. The artwork captured both action sequences and quiet character moments throughout the entire publication period.

  Kodansha announced an anime television series adaptation on the 8th of May 2020. Okuruto Noboru produced the animation while Kenta Onishi directed the project. Yuya Uetake designed the characters for this twelve-episode run that aired from January 9 to the 27th of March 2021. Viewers watched the show on the Animeism programming block across MBS, TBS, BS-TBS, and AT-X channels. Crunchyroll streamed the series worldwide outside Asia while Bilibili handled Southeast Asian broadcasts. Spira Spica performed the opening theme song starting from episode two onward. COALAMODE created the ending theme music used throughout the broadcast season.
