  Jesús David Ferreira Castro arrived in Dallas, Texas at the age of ten after his father, David Ferreira, signed with FC Dallas. The younger Jesús moved from Colombia to join his parent's professional soccer career. This relocation placed a young boy into the American youth system far from his birthplace. His family background included a father who had played for clubs including América de Cali and Atlético Paranaense before reaching North America. • 2. Youth Development And MLS Debut

  Ferreira progressed through the ranks of FC Dallas youth side before signing a homegrown contract on the 17th of November 2016. He made his professional debut on the 3rd of June 2017 as a seventy-first minute substitute during a six-two win over Real Salt Lake. In the eighty-ninth minute of that same game he scored his first goal. That moment marked his entry into professional play at just sixteen years old. Later that year he was loaned to Tulsa Roughnecks FC where he scored six goals in fourteen matches. On the 5th of September 2018 against Seattle Sounders FC two he recorded his first career hat-trick.

• 3. Rising Star At FC Dallas

  In January 2022 Ferreira signed a designated player contract with FC Dallas keeping him at the club until 2025. He finished the 2022 season with eighteen goals in thirty-five matches which stood as his best output for the club. Media reports indicated Russian club FC Spartak Moscow offered thirteen million dollars to sign him in January 2024. The transaction was allegedly halted by Major League Soccer due to the suspension of sports business relationships after the Russian invasion of Ukraine. During eight seasons with FC Dallas he scored fifty-five goals in one hundred and eighty-one appearances.

• 4. International Career And Gold Cup Heroics

  Ferreira made his senior international debut on the 1st of February 2020 in a friendly against Costa Rica. On the 10th of June 2022 he scored four goals against Grenada in a five-zero victory during the CONCACAF Nations League A campaign. This performance earned him the nickname Pirate of the Caribbean for his history of high-scoring games against national teams in the Caribbean area. In the 2023 CONCACAF Gold Cup he scored three goals in a six-zero victory over St. Kitts and Nevis on the 28th of June 2023. He completed his third international hat-trick in the following match against Trinidad and Tobago making him the first United States men's player to score hat-tricks in consecutive matches.

• 5. Move To Seattle Sounders

  On the 8th of January 2025 Ferreira was signed to a three-year contract by Seattle Sounders FC after a trade with FC Dallas. The deal included winger Léo Chú and up to two point three million dollars in general allocation money over a two-year period. He contributed five assists in his first fifteen matches with Seattle but was unable to score a goal initially. His first goal came on May 28 in a one-zero win against San Diego FC. That goal arrived just days after his daughter was born in May 2025.

• 6. Legacy And Personal Life

  Ferreira received U.S. citizenship in December 2019 prior to obtaining it he attended United States Soccer Federation youth camps. He owns a farm near Dallas where he raises chickens and three cows. His girlfriend gave birth to the couple's first child a daughter in May 2025. Individual honors include MLS Young Player of the Year in 2022 and CONCACAF Gold Cup Golden Boot for scoring seven goals in 2023. He has been named to the MLS Best XI twice and appeared as an All-Star in both 2022 and 2023.
