The duo released their first album titled Horizons on the 18th of November 2013. Recording took place at Vega Studios under careful supervision with Pascal Humbert serving as producer alongside Bruno Green for the sessions.
Pascal Humbert played bass for Passion Fodder from 1985 until that group disbanded in 1991. He then found work with the American band 16 Horsepower during his touring career.
The single Droit dans le soleil reached number nine on France's SNEP Top 10 chart within its first week. The track also appeared on charts in Belgium and Switzerland during late 2013.
Before officially launching Détroit, Cantat and Humbert collaborated on an album called Chœurs in 2011 to compose music specifically for Wajdi Mouawad's theater production Le Cycle des Femmes or simply Des Femmes.
