Détroit is made up of Bertrand Cantat and Pascal Humbert. Cantat is known for founding the French rock band Noir Désir, while Humbert previously played in Passion Fodder, 16 Horsepower, Lilium, and Wovenhand.
Détroit was formed in 2012. Their debut album, Horizons, was released on the 18th of November 2013.
The first single from Détroit's debut album Horizons was "Droit dans le soleil." It entered the French SNEP Top 10 in its first week of release and also charted in Belgium and Switzerland.
Cantat and Humbert composed music together in 2011 for Wajdi Mouawad's theatrical production of a Sophocles trilogy, known as Le Cycle des Femmes: Trois histoires de Sophocle. That collaboration, credited as the album Choeurs, preceded the formal creation of Détroit.
