Victor Davis Hanson earned his bachelor degree from the University of California, Santa Cruz in 1975. He then completed his PhD at Stanford University by 1980.
Victor Davis Hanson published Warfare and Agriculture in 1983 and The Western Way of War through Alfred Knopf in 1989. His next major work appeared in 1995 under the title The Other Greeks which claimed a unique middling agrarian class explained the rise of the Greek city-state.
