Leslye Headland, born the 26th of November 1980, is an American film and television director, screenwriter, and playwright. She directed the films Bachelorette (2012) and Sleeping with Other People (2015), co-created the Netflix series Russian Doll (2019-2022), and served as creator and showrunner of the Disney+ Star Wars series The Acolyte (2024).
Leslye Headland wrote a cycle of seven plays each corresponding to one of the Seven Deadly Sins: Cinephillia (lust), Bachelorette (gluttony), Assistance (greed), Surfer Girl (sloth), Reverb (wrath), The Accidental Blonde (envy), and Cult of Love (pride). Part of the inspiration came from her Christian upbringing. Cult of Love, the final play in the cycle, opened on Broadway at the Hayes Theatre in 2024.

Headland spent three and a half years as an assistant at Miramax after graduating from New York University in 2002, including six months as Harvey Weinstein's personal assistant. While she has stated she was not physically assaulted by Weinstein and did not witness any incidents, the experience of working in that environment inspired her 2008 play Assistance, which examines the psychology of working for a powerful and abusive boss.
Leslye Headland co-created Russian Doll with actress Natasha Lyonne and Amy Poehler. Headland was the last of the three women to join the project. The series premiered on Netflix on the 1st of February 2019, with Headland directing four episodes and co-writing three.
