Jesús David Ferreira Castro arrived in Dallas, Texas at the age of ten after his father signed with FC Dallas. The younger Jesús moved from Colombia to join his parent's professional soccer career.
Ferreira progressed through the ranks of FC Dallas youth side before signing a homegrown contract on the 17th of November 2016. He made his professional debut on the 3rd of June 2017 as a seventy-first minute substitute during a six-two win over Real Salt Lake.
Media reports indicated Russian club FC Spartak Moscow offered thirteen million dollars to sign him in January 2024. The transaction was allegedly halted by Major League Soccer due to the suspension of sports business relationships after the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
During eight seasons with FC Dallas he scored fifty-five goals in one hundred and eighty-one appearances. He finished the 2022 season with eighteen goals in thirty-five matches which stood as his best output for the club.
