William Brault, a Green Bay restaurateur and devoted Packers fan, founded the Packer Hall of Fame in 1966. He got approval from head coach Vince Lombardi on the condition that it would not interfere with the team's active players.
The Hall became a permanent site in 1976, when its new home, an addition to the Brown County Veterans Arena, was dedicated on the 3rd of April by President Gerald Ford.
The Hall is located inside the Lambeau Field Atrium, where it moved after the 2003 renovation of Lambeau Field. In 2015, it moved again within the Atrium, from the basement to the second floor.
The Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame has inducted 171 people, and 30 of those inductees are also enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Mark Murphy became the most recent inductee in August 2025, a month after retiring as the team's president.
The Green Bay Packers FAN Hall of Fame, created in 1998, is the first hall of fame built to honor fans of a professional football team. Fans nominate themselves or others with an essay of 500 words or less, and the public votes among ten finalists chosen each year.
Visitors can see a re-creation of Vince Lombardi's office, plaques for each inductee, and the Lombardi Trophies from Green Bay's four Super Bowl wins. A statue named Receiver, dedicated to the invention of the forward pass, stands outside the Hall.
