Ram Bergman was born and raised in the Israeli city of Rishon LeZion. He left his home country to move first to New York and then to Los Angeles in 1991. The young man arrived without any formal training in film production. He worked as a valet while trying to figure out how to make movies. Within just one year, he produced his first film. This early start happened through learning on the job rather than in a classroom.
The Seven Year Search For Brick
Writer-director Rian Johnson had been attempting to make the movie Brick for seven years after graduating from school. Bergman read the script and realized he had never seen anything like it before. He recalls that Johnson needed help getting the project off the ground. With Bergman's assistance, they managed to produce the film for significantly less money than expected. Their partnership began with this shared struggle to bring a unique vision to life. They focused entirely on making the movie instead of worrying about future possibilities.Blockbusters And Sequel Trilogies
Bergman produced Looper in 2012 and Star Wars: The Last Jedi in 2017. These projects reunited him repeatedly with director Rian Johnson. The production of The Last Jedi marked the second film in the Star Wars sequel trilogy. His work extended to Knives Out which was released in 2019. Each major film demonstrated his ability to handle large-scale productions alongside independent projects. The list of films includes titles such as The Brothers Bloom and Bunraku.T-Street Productions Launch
Johnson and Bergman launched their joint venture company T-Street Productions in September 2019. This new entity aims to generate original content for both film and television shows. Global media company Valence Media fully capitalized the venture. A first look deal exists between T-Street and Valence Media's Media Rights Capital for various projects. Valence Media holds a substantial minority equity stake in the company. The partners intend to create their own original works while producing other people's ideas.Awards And Industry Recognition
Bergman received an Achievement in Film Award at the 2018 Israel Film Festival. He was nominated for Outstanding Producer of Theatrical Motion Pictures for Knives Out at the 2020 Producers Guild of America Awards. These honors reflect his standing within the professional community. The recognition highlights his transition from a self-taught producer to an industry leader. His career path remains distinct due to the lack of formal schooling.
