  Ram Bergman was born and raised in the Israeli city of Rishon LeZion. He left his home country to move first to New York and then to Los Angeles in 1991. The young man arrived without any formal training in film production. He worked as a valet while trying to figure out how to make movies. Within just one year, he produced his first film.   Bergman produced Looper in 2012 and Star Wars: The Last Jedi in 2017. These projects reunited him repeatedly with director Rian Johnson.
