Dennis Weinreich served as engineer for the recording session that captured tracks like Here Comes The Sun and Lucy in the Sky.
George Harrison walked out of the London premiere after seeing the play with Derek Taylor according to Creem magazine interviews. He stated he greatly disliked the production and withdrew permission to use his song Here Comes the Sun. The musical replaced that track with Good Day Sunshine following his objection. Paul McCartney criticized the show for being biased against him and favoring John Lennon instead. He objected specifically to suggestions that McCartney caused the break-up of the Beatles rather than Lennon. McCartney blocked a proposed film version of the musical entirely due to these concerns.
