Westfield Indiana was founded on the 6th of May 1834 by three men from North Carolina named Asa Bales Ambrose Osborne and Simon Moon. These Quaker founders laid out the first streets of the town which later became a critical stop on the Underground Railroad.
The census recorded the population at 58,410 people living in Hamilton County as of 2023. The population had tripled between 2000 and 2010 rising from 9,293 people to 30,068 residents before this latest count.
Grand Park Sports Complex features 26 baseball and softball diamonds plus 31 multipurpose fields for soccer football field hockey and lacrosse. An indoor events center opened in July 2016 containing three full-size multipurpose fields and an indoor basketball volleyball facility with eight courts.
Westfield sits in western Hamilton County bordered to the east by Noblesville and to the south by Carmel. Downtown Indianapolis lies approximately fifteen miles south of the center of Westfield along U.S. Route 31.
