Topcraft produced The Hobbit film which arrived in theaters in 1977. They also created The Return of the King released in 1980 and The Last Unicorn that appeared in 1982.
Hayao Miyazaki directed Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind at Topcraft in 1984. This film adapted his manga series that ran from 1982 to 1994 and received critical acclaim upon release.
The dissolution of Topcraft occurred officially on the 15th of June 1985. Financial difficulties forced the company to close its doors and split into two distinct groups.
