Tony Stark was born on the 29th of May 1970, in Manhattan, New York, to Howard Stark and Maria Stark. His father was a famous inventor and businessman, and his mother was a socialite and philanthropist.
After being captured by the terrorist group the Ten Rings in Afghanistan in 2010, Stark and fellow prisoner Ho Yinsen built an arc reactor and a suit of armor that let him escape. Back home he built a sleeker suit and, after defeating Obadiah Stane, publicly admitted to being Iron Man.
