Albert Keller established the Ritz-Carlton Investing Company to buy and franchise the name within the United States. The first American property opened in New York City at 46th Street and Madison Avenue in 1911.
The company entered the cruise market in 2018 under the name The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection. The ship Evrima finally took guests onboard in October 2022 after multiple delays caused by construction problems and the pandemic.
