Praise focused on the documentary's intimacy and creative coverage, while some critics found it too long or noted that certain facts, including Lennon's heroin addiction, had been left out.
The Beatles: Get Back - The Rooftop Concert was a separate theatrical release of the forty-two-minute rooftop concert from the documentary. It opened in sixty-seven US IMAX theatres on the 30th of January 2022 and grossed $2.2 million worldwide.
