The album Silent Hill Original Soundtracks released in Japan on the 5th of March 1999. The forty-first track ending theme Esperandote used bandoneons violins and Spanish-speaking singer Vanesa Quiroz.
Names and designs derive from books enjoyed by character Alessa including The Lost World by Arthur Conan Doyle and Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Fictitious religious items drew inspiration from various religions with spirit-dispelling substance Aglaophotis based on herb in Kabbalah Jewish mysticism.
Film adaptation directed Christophe Gans released the 21st of April 2006 loosely based game incorporating elements from Silent Hill 2 3 4 Room replacing Harry Mason female protagonist Rose Da Silva. Critical reception was mostly negative but financial success praised fans particularly visuals.
