By 2012 the production shifted permanently to JOQR Media Plus Hall where most subsequent ceremonies occurred. This venue change coincided with the tenth anniversary celebration held on the 12th of March 2016.
Winners receive titles for Best Actor or Actress in both Leading and Supporting roles. Two additional honors exist specifically for Rookie performers split by gender categories.
Organizers canceled the planned ceremony originally set for the 7th of March 2020 due to the global health crisis affecting Japan in early 2020. The gap demonstrated how external forces could halt even established industry traditions.
A full year passed before the fifteenth Seiyu Awards resumed operations on the 6th of March 2021. Subsequent events returned to JOQR Media Plus Hall without further interruptions through 2024.
