The National Museum of Denmark, or Nationalmuseet, is Denmark's largest museum of cultural history, located a short distance from Strøget in central Copenhagen. It covers 14,000 years of history and holds collections spanning cultures from Greenland to South America.
The Hatt Collection is the National Museum of Denmark's holdings of pre-Columbian objects from the Caribbean Islands, comprising around 7,800 catalogue numbers. It is named after Gudmund Hatt, a geographer and archaeologist who curated the collection from 1919 to 1947.
