Isaac Walker Duffey was an American businessman and sports executive born on the 31st of May, 1906. He organized the Anderson Chiefs barnstorming team and later acquired a National Basketball League franchise called the Anderson Packers, which won the final NBL championship.
The Anderson Packers did not win an NBA championship. They won the final National Basketball League championship before that league dissolved, then played in the NBA and the National Professional Basketball League.
Ike Duffey and his brother John founded Duffey's Inc., a prominent meatpacking company. He also owned the Hughes-Curry Packing Co. of Anderson from 1946 to 1949, and later served as president of the Central Indiana Railway from 1951 until his death.
Duffey served as interim coach of the Anderson Packers for three games during the 1949-50 season, going 1-2 before handing the role to former NBL coach Doxie Moore.
Ike Duffey attended Marion Normal College in the 1920s. That institution is now known as Ball State University.
Ike Duffey died on the 4th of April, 1967, from cancer. He had been serving as president of the Central Indiana Railway from 1951 until his death.
