Michael Ouweleen and Erik Richter created the series for Adult Swim without prior credits on Space Ghost Coast to Coast. J. J. Sedelmaier Productions produced the pilot while Allied Art & Science handled production for the first season before Turner Studios took over after the second episode.
Harvey Birdman works as an attorney defending characters from classic Hanna-Barbera cartoons alongside other cartoon stars. His former nemesis often appear as opposing attorneys representing the other side of a given case while Dr Myron Reducto transforms into a paranoid prosecutor during certain episodes.
Audience reception remained positive throughout its four-season run ending the 22nd of July 2007. The final three seasons benefited from a streamlined workflow that allowed the team to meet deadlines more effectively than before.
Volume One arrived the 12th of April 2005 containing thirteen episodes plus commentaries and deleted scenes.
