Electronicore is a fusion genre that combines metalcore instrumentation and breakdowns with electronic music elements including trance, dubstep, techno, and synthesizers. It also features auto-tuned singing alongside screamed vocals, and is known for dynamic transitions between soft electronica passages and heavy metalcore sections.
Enter Shikari, founded in St Albans, England, and operating under the name Hybryd from 1999 before adopting their current name in early 2003, are widely considered pioneers of electronicore.
