Mink is the main character of Dragon Half, a teenage girl born to a former swordsman and an imperial red dragon. Her goal is to defeat Azetodeth to obtain a potion that turns her into a full human so she can be with Dick Saucer.
Dragon Half was serialized from the 30th of January 1988 until the 30th of April 1994. The series contains 65 chapters published over six years across seven tankōbon volumes.
The three pieces of the broken Gourd of the Saints are Parza's holy grail, Lorelo's Ball, and Gill's crown. These artifacts were separated two thousand years ago and must be reconstructed to seal Azetodeth away.
The first episode of the Dragon Half OVA released on the 26th of March 1993 and the second followed on May 28. Shin'ya Sadamitsu wrote and directed the two-episode animated adaptation produced by Production I.G.
Seven Seas Entertainment acquired licensing rights for the Dragon Half manga while Discotek Media re-licensed the anime OVAs for DVD release in 2014. ADV Films previously held the license for the anime before Discotok Media took over.
