Color Visión first broadcast in color on the 25th of July 1968 in Santiago de los Caballeros. This event marked the birth of the first color television station in the Dominican Republic and the third of its kind in Latin America.
Poppy Bermudez provided the financial backing to establish Color Visión as a dedicated studio. The Dominican businessman invested a large sum of money to help the network move beyond borrowed hotel spaces into a permanent home for creativity.
El Show Del Mediodia has been a staple on the network since 1977 and Aeromundo has been on the air since 1967. Hoy Mismo has been broadcasting since 2000 and El Despertador began in 2014.
Color Visión started broadcasting in 4K on the 8th of March 2025. This made it the first television channel in the country to utilize the new format.
As of 2023, Color Visión sources its telenovelas from Turkey and the Philippines as well as titles from Caracol Televisión. The network also airs content from NBCUniversal starting in January 2025 through an agreement reached in December 2024.
