Terrio won the Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay and the Writers Guild of America Award for Best Adapted Screenplay for the 2012 film Argo. He also received nominations from the Golden Globes, the BAFTA Awards, and the Los Angeles Film Critics Association, and won additional honors from multiple regional critics circles and the 2013 USC Scripter Award.
