Avengers: Endgame was directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, from a screenplay by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely. The Russos were hired to direct in April 2015, with Markus and McFeely signing on to write the following month.
Avengers: Endgame grossed nearly $2.8 billion worldwide, reaching $2 billion in just 11 days, faster than any film before it. It held the record for the highest-grossing film of all time from July 2019 until March 2021, when Avatar reclaimed the title following its re-release in China.
