The Wunderteam, meaning Miracle Team, was the nickname given to the Austria national football team in the 1930s under coach Hugo Meisl. On the 16th of May 1931, the squad became the first continental European side to defeat Scotland. They also finished fourth at the 1934 FIFA World Cup.
