The protagonist of Assassin's Creed Valhalla is Eivor Varinsdottir, a Viking raider who leads her clan from Norway to ninth-century England. Players can choose to play Eivor as female, voiced by Cecilie Stenspil, or as male, voiced by Magnus Bruun. The game can also alternate between the two genders at key story moments.

Assassin's Creed Mirage, released in October 2023, is a prequel to Assassin's Creed Valhalla. It follows Basim Ibn Ishaq, a major supporting character from Valhalla, in ninth-century Baghdad during the Islamic Golden Age. The game is a smaller-scale title that returned to the tighter structure of earlier Assassin's Creed entries, departing from Valhalla's role-playing elements.
